Conte in shock return to Juventus

Tottenham Hotspur manager, Antonio Conte, is being linked with a sensational return to Juventus to replace under-fire boss, Max Allegri.

Allegri is under serious pressure in Turin, following a shock 1-0 defeat to bottom team Monza last weekend.

Juve have also lost both of their opening group fixtures in the Champions League.

They currently sit eighth in Serie A after two wins from their first seven matches.

This poor start to the campaign has led to speculation that the club might look to replace Allegri, who has been the subject of criticism from fans.

If Allegri were to lose his job, Conte is said to be “open” to a return to Juventus, according to reports in Italy.

Conte is yet to extend his contract with the Premier League side beyond next summer.

Things are looking good for Spurs this season, with the club unbeaten so far in the Premier League and only a point off leaders Arsenal.

Nonetheless, the 53-year-old has previously said he has “unfinished business” in Turin, and is believed to be Juventus director Pavel Nedved’s number one choice to replace Allegri.

Conte managed Juventus between 2011 and 2014 and lifted three Serie A titles before he dramatically fell out with club chief Andrea Agnelli after feeling he wasn’t backed in the transfer market.

Aubameyang should score 20 goals, Chelsea won’t be champions – Hasselbaink

Former Chelsea striker, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has backed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to become the first striker at the club since Diego Costa to score more than 20 Premier League goals.

Costa scored 20 goals in 35 games as the Blues won the title in the 2016/2017.

Aubameyang will be hoping to break the hoodoo following his deadline-day move from Barcelona.

Hasselbaink, however, doubts the Gabonese’s goals will be enough to power Chelsea to the title.

He said: “Aubameyang can score 20 plus goals. Have they got a squad to go and become champions? Not yet.

“Have they got a squad to get in the top four and compete for an FA Cup, or get far in the Champions League? Yes.

Are they going to win the Champions League? They’re not favourites, I don’t think that they are. But a successful season would be finishing in the top four and winning a cup this year.

“I think he’s going to embrace it and I think Graham Potter will embrace him as well. I don’t see any problem really.

“He has only played two matches. He has not hit the back of the net yet but that will come. you don’t become a bad player overnight.”

Moffi to lead Super Eagles attack vs Algeria

Lorient of France striker, Terem Moffi is favoured to lead the Super Eagles attack in Friday’s friendly against Algeria.

According to camp sources, the 23-year-old is turning heads in the team’s training ahead of the friendlies.

Moffi has been in fantastic form in the French Ligue 1 this season, netting six times in eight appearances for Lorient.

The absence of Victor Osimhen and Umar Sadiq due to injuries has also provided him the chance to stake claim for a regular playing berth in the team.

The forward bagged a brace in the Super Eagles last game against Sao Tome and Principe which Jose Peseiro’s side won 10-0.

Kelechi Iheanacho, Cyriel Dessers and Godwin Saviour are the other strikers in the team.

I don’t know what your problem is’ – Jack Grealish slams Liverpool legend

Manchester City midfielder, Jack Grealish has slammed Liverpool legend, Graeme Souness, for his constant criticism of him.

Since making his record-breaking £100m transfer from Aston Villa to Man City last year, Grealish has come under plenty of scrutiny from fans and pundits alike, with Souness, perhaps his most vocal critic.

Many have commented on Grealish’s lack of goal contributions at Man City, having scored just seven times and making just four assists in 45 games for the Premier League champion.

Souness has also described Grealish as a ‘good, not great player’ and has claimed that he holds onto the ball for too long.

But Grealish has now hit back at Souness, saying that the only person he will be taking advice from on how to play is his manager Pep Guardiola.

“I don’t know what his [Souness’] problem is with me. He always says stuff about me,” Grealish said while on international duty with England ahead of their UEFA Nations League fixtures with Italy and Germany.

“It is difficult [to ignore] when he’s on Sky Sports and it is everywhere around the training ground. He was a great player and won a lot, but I don’t know what problem he’s got.

I know he has said a lot of stuff about me not moving the ball quicker but when I am playing for a manager like Pep Guardiola and he is telling me to keep the ball as much as I can and have balls to take it everywhere, that is what I will try to do.

“I always watch my games back and I am very critical of myself. I know that there were games, especially in the second half of last season, where I was not at my best at all.

“I will always have people on my back. When I signed for City and the price that came with it, I knew it was not going to all be laughs, unless I started the way Erling Haaland did. That is the only way I wouldn’t get caned!

I wouldn’t be surprised – Barcley reveals player to leave Chelsea in January

Respected football Journalist, Tom Barclay believes Chelsea midfielder, Conor Gallagher could potentially move to Crystal Palace in the January transfer window.

Barclay said he would not be surprised if Gallagher leaves Chelsea for the south London outfit next year because he is an England international.

Gallagher spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace.

He made 34 Premier League appearances for Patrick Vieira’s side last season, scoring eight goals and providing three assists.

Gallagher has paid the price for lack of regular game time since returning to Chelsea from loan at Palace as he was left out of the England squad for their upcoming Nations League fixtures against Italy and Germany, while his teammates Ben Chilwell, Reece James, Mason Mount and Raheem Sterling are included.

However, while Barclay entertains the possibility of Gallagher being in new Chelsea manager Graham Potter’s plans, he has not ruled out a potential Crystal Palace move in January.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Barclay said: “I wouldn’t be surprised that come January, we are not even talking about this as a possible transfer because he’s become a big part of Graham Potter’s plans.”

He added: “But obviously, if that doesn’t prove to be the case and he is out of the picture, then a player of that quality, particularly being an England international, if he became available, then you’d be pretty certain that Palace would be interested.”
