Nigerian skit maker Kamal Aboki has died after being involved in a car crash.

The fledgling comedian reportedly passed away in the accident which took place on Monday. He was on his way to Kano from Borno State.

The late Kamal was known for his skits on TikTok where he gathered an impressive fan following, gaining prominence for his Hausa-themed content.

The skit maker’s demise was confirmed by his elder brother Usman who revealed that their mother had a premonition about an impending tragedy involving Kamal on Monday.

Per a BBC report, Usman shared that Kamal’s trip to Kano State was for an album launch.

“On Monday, my mother asked me to call Kamal around 5 pm, and he said he was already inside a vehicle to Kano.

“Then, my mother started feeling somehow.

“Later, someone called me to ask if I had someone travelling from Maiduguri to Kano, and I told the person yes. It was at that point the caller broke the news of what happened to me”, Usman said.

The brother of the deceased added that the skit maker’s death has left the family unsettled and that he will be sorely missed.
